Junior Cycle

The core subjects for first year students in their first year and throughout the Junior Cycle programme

Transition Year

Transition Year is an optional programme for students who have completed their Junior Cycle. 

Senior Cycle

Senior Cycle students follow a two-year programme leading to the Leaving Certificate Examination.

LCVP

Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme

LCVP is offered to all our Senior Cycle students. LCVP is an enhanced Leaving Certificate. The LCVP is a Leaving Certificate with a focus on enterprise and preparation for working life. This two-year programme combines the academic strengths of the Leaving Certificate with a dynamic focus on self-directed learning, enterprise, work and the community. In most ways the LCVP is like the established Leaving Certificate. LCVP students take two additional courses, called Link Modules, in the areas of Preparation for the World of Work and Enterprise Education.

DROICHEAD

Scoil Aireagail became a Droichead school in 2021

The Droichead process is an integrated professional induction framework for newly qualified teachers (NQTs). The main objective of the Droichead process is to support the professional learning of the NQTs during the induction phase, thus laying the foundations for subsequent professional growth and learning for the next phase of their career. 

We have a fully trained Professional Support Team, who mentor NQTs through the Droichead process. We look forward to working with NQTs to enrich our school culture.
